What is an indoor telecom power system?

An indoor telecom power system is a DC power system installed in an equipment room or indoor cabinet. It converts AC mains into a regulated 48 VDC (or 24 / 60 VDC) supply for telecom equipment and charges the backup batteries. It combines rectifiers, a controller and battery and load distribution, usually in a 19-inch rack or a cabinet such as the Eltek indoor IFC cabinet.

What is a DC system?

A DC system (DC power system) supplies direct current to equipment that runs on 24, 48, 110 or 220 VDC, such as telecom radios and switches, substation protection relays, switchgear controls and emergency lighting, with batteries that take over instantly when mains fails.
