What is an OPzV battery?
OPzV comes from the German Ortsfest PanZerplatte Verschlossen: a stationary, tubular-plate, sealed lead-acid battery. The electrolyte is immobilised as a gel, so OPzV cells need no water addition and have a low ventilation requirement. This makes OPzV batteries a strong fit for remote, unmanned and space-constrained sites where maintenance visits are costly.
